Striving for a more inclusive and
equal music sector
Play it Loud! aims to contribute to a more equal and diverse youth & music sector, welcoming all underrepresented youth to express themselves, take ownership, express freely through music and participate actively in local and European democratic and civic spaces, thus contributing to shaping a more inclusive society.
Throughout a combination of local and international activities, Play it Loud! brings together and directly benefits young musicians, cultural and youth organizers, and youth and music experts from Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, France, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Sweden and beyond. The activities so far led to the production of several different outputs: an initial assessment encompassing best practices and needs analysis; a set of pedagogical guidelines and recommendations for youth and music organisations; a practical checklist and toolkit to implement inclusive activities for and with underrepresented young musicians (the Play it Loud! Handbook); and video-resources to support individuals and organizations who want to use the handbook.

In 2023, following the Experts Pool built in 2021, we created a Pool of Trainers and a Young Ambassadors program. In the past 3 years, we also implemented over 30 local actions, reaching more than 800 young people and youth & music professionals.
More activities are envisaged from 2024, including study visits in some of the partners’ countries, training events and further development of the guidelines, toolkit and online resources.

An event showcasing female and lgbtq+ professionals in the hungarian music industry, inspiring young musicians to go for their goals, whereas create attention on the challenges that one faces in such a competitive environment.
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to play in a band?
For this event, we want to bring instruments to people who haven’t tried them before, and show them how fun is it to play music. The event is especially aimed toward women, non-binary and trans-people and also aims to raise awareness about LOUD and Play it LOUD.
